Bloom Host
It is beautiful. That observation always comes first, and the rest arrive slightly too late.
fungal host · Challenge rating 6
Still alive. Nobody has ended it yet.
Behavior
The greenhouse keeps its lights off now; the growth makes its own. It is beautiful — agreed first, every time, in that order — and it is mid-spread, the only state it has. The figure carrying it walks to manage the rate, not the fact. Contact takes hold in a day: warmth in the palm, then a glow under the nailbeds that photographs clearly and does not itch.
Appearance
A humanoid figure sheathed in soft, moss-like bloom, luminescent in a color that sits between named ones. The growth is thickest at throat, scalp, and palms, trailing fine filaments that drift on air the vents are moving. It is beautiful. That observation always comes first, and the rest arrive slightly too late.
Physical description
Average height, shuffling, joints stiffened from beneath — the growth is inside the motion, not on it. Soft bloom in a blue-green that is neither sheathes the body in breathing pulses of light. At the palms the filaments are finest, lifting toward warmth. Where skin shows between plates of growth, it glows faintly from underneath, like a hand held over a flashlight.
