Role Playing Story ("we," "our," or "us") operates a mobile application that provides AI-generated interactive storytelling experiences. We are committed to protecting your privacy and collecting only the minimal personal information necessary to provide our service.

Our Approach: We intentionally collect minimal personal information. This policy is subject to change as our service evolves, but our current commitment is to data minimization.

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email Address: Verified through AWS Cognito for authentication
• Screen Name: Your chosen display name
• Password: Managed securely by AWS Cognito (we do not store passwords directly)

2.2 User-Generated Content

• Actions: Text you submit to generate new story pages, which is translated and processed by AI
• Story Progress: Your reading history and choices within stories

2.3 Local Device Storage

• Theme Preference: Your light/dark mode selection stored locally on your device
• Cached Stories: Story content cached on your device for offline reading

2.4 Payment Information

In-app purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store payment card information. We only receive confirmation of purchase and points awarded.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Authenticate your account and provide access to generation features
• Display your screen name in connection with content you create
• Process your actions through AI to generate new story pages
• Track your story progress and reading history
• Manage your points balance for content generation
• Provide customer support

4. Reading Without an Account

No Authentication Required: You can freely read all story content without creating an account or providing any personal information. Account creation is only required to generate new story pages.

5. AI and Content Generation

When you submit an action to generate a new story page:

• Your action text is processed by AI services (OpenAI and/or AWS Bedrock)
• The AI generates story content based on your input and existing story context
• Generated content becomes available to all users
• Generation requires points (1 point = $0.01 USD), purchased via in-app purchase

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate our application:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud hosting and infrastructure
• AWS Cognito: User authentication and account management
• OpenAI: AI text and image generation
• AWS Bedrock: AI text generation
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: In-app purchase processing

These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of information.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and user-generated content indefinitely unless you request deletion. To request account deletion, contact us at the email address below.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information:

• With service providers necessary to operate our application (AWS, AI providers, payment processors)
• When required by law or to protect our rights
• In connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, sale of assets)

Content Rating: Story content may include PG-13 rated material. Parental guidance is recommended for users aged 13-17.

11. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:

• Authentication managed by AWS Cognito with industry-standard security
• Data encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (AWS encryption)
• Access controls limiting who can access user data

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we may notify you as required by applicable law. Given our minimal data collection (email and screen name only), the risk of material harm from a breach is limited.

13. International Users

Our service is available worldwide. By using our service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and processing in accordance with U.S. law. This Privacy Policy and our practices are governed by U.S. law.
