Role Playing Story ("we," "our," or "us") operates a mobile application that provides AI-generated interactive storytelling experiences. We are committed to protecting your privacy and collecting only the minimal personal information necessary to provide our service.

Our Approach: We intentionally collect minimal personal information. This policy is subject to change as our service evolves, but our current commitment is to data minimization.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email Address: Verified through AWS Cognito for authentication
• Screen Name: Your chosen display name
• Password: Managed securely by AWS Cognito (we do not store passwords directly)

2.2 User-Generated Content

• Actions: Text you submit to generate new story pages, which is translated and processed by AI
• Story Progress: Your reading history and choices within stories

2.3 Local Device Storage

• Theme Preference: Your light/dark mode selection stored locally on your device
• Cached Stories: Story content cached on your device for offline reading

2.4 Payment Information

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store payment card information. We only receive confirmation of purchase and points awarded.

If you subscribe to our optional monthly subscription, we also receive subscription-related data from Apple or Google, including a transaction/receipt identifier, subscription expiry date, and auto-renewal status. We use this data only to verify and manage your subscription access.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Authenticate your account and provide access to generation features
• Display your screen name in connection with content you create
• Process your actions through AI to generate new story pages
• Track your story progress and reading history
• Manage your points balance for content generation
• Provide customer support

4. Reading Without an Account

No Authentication Required: You can freely read all story content without creating an account or providing any personal information. Account creation is only required to generate new story pages.

5. AI and Content Generation

When you submit an action to generate a new story page:

• Your action text is processed by AI services (OpenAI and/or AWS Bedrock)
• The AI generates story content based on your input and existing story context
• Generated content becomes available to all users
• Generation requires points (1 point = $0.01 USD), purchased via in-app purchase

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate our application:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud hosting and infrastructure
• AWS Cognito: User authentication and account management
• OpenAI: AI text and image generation
• AWS Bedrock: AI text generation
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: In-app purchase processing

These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of information.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and user-generated content indefinitely. You can instantly and permanently revoke your own login access at any time from Account Settings inside the app. Revoking access on its own does not erase every record associated with your account (for example, your points balance or screen name may be retained, decoupled from your login). To request full erasure of your personal account data, contact us at the email address below and we will process the request manually. Story pages and branches you contributed remain part of the shared story tree regardless of account deletion — see our Terms of Service.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information:

• With service providers necessary to operate our application (AWS, AI providers, payment processors)
• When required by law or to protect our rights
• In connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, sale of assets)

Subject to Change: While we currently do not sell or broadly share user data, this policy may change as our business evolves. We will notify users of material changes.

9. Your Rights

9.1 General Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for data processing (where applicable)

9.2 GDPR Rights (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR:

• Right to data portability (receive your data in a structured format)
• Right to object to processing
• Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

9.3 CCPA Rights (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under CCPA:

10. Age Requirements

Minimum Age: 17. Role Playing Story is intended exclusively for users aged 17 and older. By creating an account or using this app, you confirm that you are at least 17 years of age.

Prohibition on Minors: Users under the age of 17 are prohibited from using this service. If you are under 17, do not create an account or use this app.

Children's Data: We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 17. If we discover or are notified that a user is under 17, we will terminate that account and delete associated personal information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at perspectivity.space@gmail.com.

Enforcement: This app is distributed through the Apple App Store with a 17+ age rating. Apple's platform controls — including Family Sharing parental restrictions — are the primary mechanism preventing minors from downloading the app. Our Terms of Service provide the legal backstop: use of this app constitutes your confirmation that you meet the minimum age requirement.

11. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:

• Authentication managed by AWS Cognito with industry-standard security
• Data encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (AWS encryption)
• Access controls limiting who can access user data

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we may notify you as required by applicable law. Given our minimal data collection (email and screen name only), the risk of material harm from a breach is limited.

13. International Users

Our service is available worldwide. By using our service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and processing in accordance with U.S. law. This Privacy Policy and our practices are governed by U.S. law.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Material changes may be communicated via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
