How It Works

Every page you see was shaped by a player. Here's how it happens.

1
Action Translation
When you submit an action, it doesn't go directly into the story. Your input is first translated into a form the system can work with — cleaned, interpreted, and checked for content standards. This step ensures quality and keeps the experience consistent for everyone. There is a small point cost for translation.
2
Page Generation
Once your action is translated, it can be used to generate a full story page — narrative text and an accompanying image. This takes roughly a minute. While it's running, you'll see detailed generation metadata on screen. This is the primary point expenditure. The system is doing real work here.
3
Publication
When generation completes, the page is published and immediately available — to you, and to every other user who makes the same choice. The story branches you create become part of the shared experience.
4
Post-Publication Editing
Here's something worth knowing: pages are edited after they go live. Within a few minutes of first display, the system may revise the content for continuity and correctness. This is intentional. Think of it as the story settling into place. If you notice a change, that's the process working as designed.
