zombie · Challenge rating 4
Still alive. Nobody has ended it yet.
Behavior
The host is cooperating, which is the detail that stays with you afterward. Whatever arrangement produced the current state involved consent at some point. The maggots have the same destination regardless — the cooperation just changes the timeline.
Appearance
Has the look of a person who made a decision and is currently in the middle of it. The movement beneath the surface is most visible when it is standing still, which it does often, near doorways.
Physical description
Human-shaped corpse, upright, ordinary clothes hanging loose on shrinking frame. Skin gray-yellow, slack, mottled with bulging patches that shift and ripple minutes apart. Torso and cheeks pocked with small weeping holes where pale larvae surface and retreat. Stands motionless near doorways, head slightly tilted, breathing unnecessary but continued.
