Mimic Couch
It has been in the lounge longer than the furniture invoice explains, and it is in no hurry.
shapeshifter · Challenge rating 6
Still alive. Nobody has ended it yet.
Behavior
It has been in the lounge longer than the furniture invoice explains, and it is in no hurry. It never swallows anyone whole — not its method. Its method is the nap you needed, the hour you cannot account for, the rested feeling that never arrives. The staff who use the lounge most have started sleeping in shifts, and none of them proposed the schedule out loud.
Appearance
Indistinguishable from a deep leather couch until it is not. The cushions return to position slightly too smoothly. The fabric has never collected crumbs. Nobody has successfully named its color, and the room inventory gives a different answer every audit.
Physical description
A three-cushion couch, leather worn to an indeterminate shade, always body-warm. The underside is not upholstery: it is skin, seamed and stitched, flexing slowly like something breathing through its back. When it acts, the seams part into a wet mouth-line and the cushion-flesh folds into gripping limbs before smoothing flat again.
