The Banshee Knight
The scream is aimed at no one. It is her last fight, unfinished, still at full speed.
undead specter · Challenge rating 6
Still alive. Nobody has ended it yet.
Behavior
The scream is aimed at no one. It is her last fight, unfinished, still at full speed across a moment the building left behind. In range you are drafted in: the smoke, the weapon's weight, being about to lose. Pulled out in time, people describe injuries they do not have; pulled out late, they flinch at the unlanded blow — on a schedule, for years.
Appearance
A translucent figure in full battle gear, mid-lunge, weight forward, fighting something that is not you and never was. The armor is dented and scorched exactly as it was at the end. When the visor gapes, the face inside is concentrating on something decades away.
Physical description
Human-sized, faintly blue-grey and translucent, edges guttering like smoke in a draft. Full plate, battle-damaged, sword fixed mid-swing; the stance never resets. The scream arrives through the floor as much as the air, and teeth ache in it. The face, glimpsed through the visor, is not in this year.
Weaknesses
- her name, spoken aloud into the scream
- resolution of the engagement — someone must finish the fight she cannot
Resistances
- physical damage
- engaging her — you are not the opponent and cannot become it
