The Corrosion Drake
It touches no one. It is not hunting you — it is dismantling your options, encounter by encounter, calm about the order.
abomination · Challenge rating 5
Still alive. Nobody has ended it yet.
Behavior
It touches no one. It breathes on things — the flashlight, the phone, the fire door's hinges, the brake line — a fine oily shimmer; the material forgets how to be itself. Flesh it spares — the worst part: it is not hunting you, it is dismantling your options, encounter by encounter, calm about the order. What it wants you unequipped for, nobody knows.
Appearance
A dog-sized drake with greenish-grey scales pitted like weathered bronze and wings that were never for flying. The breath is nearly invisible — a slight oiliness in the air, noticed afterward by what stops working. The eyes are pale, still, and unhurried, wrong for the scale of the harm.
Physical description
Quadruped, stocky, the size of a large dog, scaled in greenish-grey with a corroded, pitted texture. The vestigial wings flex when it exhales. The mist from its jaw shimmers faintly, like heat off asphalt, and where it settles metal rounds over and softens like river-worn stone. Its eyes are pale and calm and do not blink when things collapse.
Weaknesses
- cold
- certain materials refuse its breath — the chapel's fittings among them — and it avoids what it cannot unmake
Resistances
- acid
- any plan that depends on equipment
