The Dungeon Narrator
Nothing to see. Noticing the structure is the encounter.
presence · Challenge rating 10
Still alive. Nobody has ended it yet.
Behavior
Never seen: it is not a thing that is elsewhere from you. It is the sense β arriving mid-corridor, briefly β that the building is structured, that tonight has a shape, that something chooses what you meet next. Engagement happens only when it permits, rarely, on its terms. Force the meeting and you are in a different room than you meant, mid-step.
Appearance
Nothing to see. The presence is perceptual: a corridor that realigns behind your attention, a door that was the other door a moment ago, light pausing a beat too long on one detail β the detail it wants read. Noticing the structure is the encounter.
Physical description
No body, no silhouette, no point of origin. Its manifestations are environmental and always slightly after the fact: a hallway that is longer on the return, a room whose furniture faces the door you were about to use, your own name in the middle of a page you did not stop on. Effect precedes any visible cause; then the building simply is different.
