The Dungeon Sovereign
The deepest chamber of the sub-levels is hers — since before the building had a name to put on deeds.
ancient entity · Challenge rating 8
Still alive. Nobody has ended it yet.
Behavior
The deepest chamber of the sub-levels is hers — since before the building had a name to put on deeds. Visitors are not threats; they are visitors, which carries expectations of conduct, and the building keeps her etiquette. Meet the expectations and you pass; fail and you are removed — efficiently, effortlessly, by mechanisms no one is shown twice.
Appearance
Tall, still, unmistakably the owner of the room. The architecture defers to her — seams align toward her chair, light finds her first — subtly, and then, as you keep looking, not subtly. Her attention, when it lands, is the specific attention of someone deciding whether you are worth the courtesy.
Physical description
Seven feet, seated or standing at the chamber's center, pale as old stone and as still. Her robes fuse seamlessly into the floor's stonework at the hem — not resting on it, continuous with it. The head turns slowly to track attention. Nothing else about her moves, and nothing about the room fails to.
Weaknesses
- acknowledgment of her authority over her domain
- the correct formal address — the building provides it to the attentive
Resistances
- conventional damage
- force
- the building itself defends her
