The Weaver
It does not attack — it contains, then watches what it holds. Older structures remain occupied.
construct · Challenge rating 9
Still alive. Nobody has ended it yet.
Behavior
It builds in the basements — load-bearing lattices, tensioned frames, harness-points at standing height — and its craft is impeccable. It does not attack — it contains, then watches what it holds, unhurried, as long as the containment lasts. Older structures remain occupied. Whether it waits for something specific or prefers its work still, nobody it kept has said.
Appearance
Eight-legged and draft-horse sized, its body nearer a loom than a spider — a dark frame of polished struts and taut cabling, spinnerets set like shuttle-heads. It moves through its own constructions with the exaggerated care of a craftsman stepping over finished work.
Physical description
A rectangular loom-chassis on eight articulated legs, dark wood and cable, big as a draft horse. The silk it lays is structural — taut, load-rated, anchored with engineering precision. Its harness-frames are sized and padded for specific occupants, and the padding on the oldest frames is worn in the shape of the people they held.
Weaknesses
- fire
- breaking its structures before they are complete — it will not leave work unfinished to chase you
Resistances
- webbing and binding attacks
- patience — it has more
